We are creatures of habit; this statement alone makes you worry about driving on the other side of road.
It’s a bit of a brain flip the first time you do it.
Anyone who has done this a few times will probably admit to getting it wrong at least once and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Perhaps while traveling you paid so much attention, that it wasn’t until you got home and relaxed that you went out in the car but forgot to flip your brain back.
It can be incredibly dangerous and you have to stay alert at all times.
So here’s a couple things you can do. Firstly follow the guy in front of you; they are unlikely to drive onto the wrong side of the road. Do this for a while until you feel confident that your brain has truly flipped.
This doesn’t mean you end up following the guy in front home; if he turns off just attach yourself to the new guy in front.
Bring a satellite navigation/GPS device that you can place at eye level, which shows the lane you need to be in. This can be really helpful at roundabouts.
Remember every time you get back in the car, or better yet make a sign you can see when you sit in the drivers seat to remind you. This is the point where you are most likely to forget and mess up.
The moment you get back into the car and pull out can be the most dangerous.
Stay safe out there.
